Opening its doors in 2013, Ivy Provisions was born out a need for a high-quality sandwich shop that made absolutely craveable sandwiches.
A sandwich that was fresh, made with top quality ingredients and was really damn tasty and satisfying. One that made you want to eat it over and over and over again. A sandwich so good you think about it when you wake up or when you are at work or when someone simply says the word sandwich. In other words, a sandwich you can’t stop thinking about. Really. A sandwich that good. Heck, if you watch any food channel on TV, there’s always an ‘ooey, gooey, saucy, need a wash cloth when you are done’ kind of sandwich on there. Why could that not be the case right here in our own Charlottesville?
Well, at that point we knew we needed to do it ourselves and over a decade later, having served up hundreds of thousands of our craveable sandwiches, all over the Charlottesville region. And guess what, we are still waking up every day thinking about our sandwiches and dare I say we are just as excited about it as day one.
We appreciate your support over the last decade plus and we hope we can continue to earn your business every day moving forward.
Meet the Team
The business is owned by a small group of local investors, led by PK Kamath, overseeing the finances, marketing and philanthropy/community components, and heavily involved in the curation, quality control and strategic and culinary direction of Ivy Provisions. Alongside him are Mary Catherine Gunter (GM) and Chef Bryan Sewell (EC).
MARY CATHERINE
When she’s not busy personally assembling or delivering your catering order, is working with our select group of vendors to place orders so our team and our customers have access to fresh ingredients every single day. She is a familiar face in the community, whether it be from dropping off your weekly catering order or singing some sweet tunes with the choir.
CHEF BRYAN SEWELL
may not always be as visible to customers, but it’s safe to say he works hand-in-hand with Mary Catherine to make sure that Ivy Provisions maintains the consistency and quality that it has become known for, while not being scared to walk a bit on the edge and come up with new ideas that are outside the box, but still evoke a feeling of nostalgia or familiarity. He has the unique ability to not only keep the kitchen running smoothly, but to also come up with new ideas and features that our customers seem to really to enjoy. When he’s not thinking up new soups and sandwiches, he is usually out playing golf or frisbee golf or anything related to golf, his favorite pastime.
